Gewista, Austria’s largest outdoor advertising company, publishes its first sustainability report, in which it presents the environmental, economic and social impacts of the company activity in the period 2017 to 2018. The currently available first report will hereafter be published in a two year cycle. The next reporting interval will be 2019/2020, supplemented by a Fact-Sheet on the key figures of 2019, which will be published at the beginning of 2020.
In the currently available Gewista-Sustainability Report, which is viewable at https://www.gewista.at/de/nachhaltigkeit, the impacts, risks and opportunities arising from the business activity and business relationships, the sustainability approach and corresponding management policies and measures are set out, as well as a description of specific sustainability activities that were implemented within the reporting period and before.
“I am pleased to be able to present Gewista’s first sustainability report,” says Gewista CEO Franz Solta. “Gewista is the largest outdoor advertising company in Austria and part of the worldwide outdoor advertising group JC Decaux. We have been growing in a sustainable manner for many years, and know very well that companies who recognise the area of sustainability at an early stage can better assert themselves in highly competitive markets; because successful corporations are now not only measured in terms of financial figures. Increasingly, it is also non-financial performance indicators that are incorporated into the success strategy of a company. The currently available report describes our understanding of sustainability, our role as employers and our commitment to the community.”
“Crucial for the first-time preparation of a sustainability report,” says Gewista CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) Manager Andrea Nowak-Mann, “was the intensive analysis of UN goals for sustainable development, the Sustainable Development Goals, in short SDGs. Together with the sustainability issues of the JC Decaux Group, we have managed to implement a balanced mix of specifically Austrian issues and group issues for Gewista.”
