Just in time for the climax of the football World Cup, Gewista, in collaboration with the creative agency theform, implemented a quite special form of promotion for the city of Vienna: a waiting hall – in total branding-look-, in which you can design and print out your own football sticker. The promotion is accompanied by a City Light campaign all around the waiting hall, as well as digital City Lights in the Volkstheater underground station and the Mariahilfer Straße.

The World Cup - football sticker waiting hall is right on the Rathausplatz. At this wide-reaching, urban location, the sporting city of Vienna shows that its heart beats for football and all football fans. The waiting hall conveys stadium flair at its finest. Beginning with foliations on the walls and City Lights with football motifs, the waiting hall is, moreover, designed in the style of a football pitch and the waiting hall bench has been transformed into a player’s bench. The highlight of this promotional presentation is that of an integrated City Light teleprompter with visual field recognition, through which one can – with amusing hairstyles, beards and accessories- take photos of oneself, which can be printed out as football stickers on special promotion days. The best photos will also be displayed on Digital City Lights in the Volkstheater underground station and at Mariahilfer Straße. There, all you can do is shout out: “Goal! Goal! Goal! I’m Mad!!!”

“As part of the World Cup, we wanted to draw attention to the superb range of sport on offer in the City of Vienna. Backed by the expertise of Gewista and because many people spend time outdoors in summer, an OOH-solution was virtually in place. The campaign takes place opposite the Burgtheater and continues until 18.07, and everybody can now fill in the gaps in his or her World Cup – sticker album. This way, a few Austrians will make it to the World Cup”, says Marco Lumsden, Chief Executive of theform agency with a wink of the eye.

“Waiting hall branding in Total-Look”, says Andrea Groh, CSO Gewista, “offers, besides the popular City Lights, ever more diverse design possibilities. Through the integration of digital screens, additional structures, floor markings and foliations, there are virtually no limits set to individual “tuning”. Our Innovative & Ambient Media-Unit developed this sensation causing form of special promotion together with our clients. The presentations at the waiting halls are not only a unique eye catcher, but also one of the Out of Home forms of promotion, which, due to the especially creative design possibilities, remain in the memory of consumers for a long time and represent the highlight of each campaign”.
